iFactFind have announced that it has successfully achieved SOC 2 Type II and GDPR Type 2 certifications, further demonstrating its dedication to the highest standards of data security and privacy. The independent audit was conducted by Sensiba (formerly AssuranceLab), a global leader in compliance and assurance.
What is SOC 2 Type II?
SOC 2 (System and Organization Controls) is a globally recognised framework for managing customer data based on the five Trust Services Criteria: security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy.
- SOC 2 Type I evaluates the design of security and privacy controls at a specific point in time.
- SOC 2 Type II, however, goes further – assessing not only the design but also the operating effectiveness of those controls over an extended period (typically six or twelve months).
Achieving SOC 2 Type II provides assurance that iFactFind’s controls are consistently applied in practice, not just documented on paper.
Why does this matter for advisers?
For financial advisers handling highly sensitive client information, trust is everything. By attaining SOC 2 Type II and GDPR Type 2 certifications, iFactFind has demonstrated that its platform operates with strong, independently verified safeguards to protect client data across jurisdictions.
This builds on earlier SOC 2 Type I compliance and aligns with iFactFind’s ongoing journey towards ISO/IEC 27001 certification, the internationally recognised standard for information security management.
“Security and trust are at the heart of iFactFind,” said Sahil Matta, CTO of iFactFind. “Our SOC 2 Type II and GDPR Type 2 certifications show that our practices aren’t just well-designed – they are tested, proven, and continuously improving. As we progress towards ISO 27001, we’re embedding resilience and security into our culture and technology.”
Paul Moran, CEO of iFactFind, added, “Financial advisers and their clients rely on us to handle critical information. These certifications represent more than compliance – they show our long-term commitment to providing advisers with a secure, reliable platform that they can trust as they focus on client outcomes.”
Ongoing assurance
iFactFind will continue working with Sensiba as its independent audit partner to ensure ongoing compliance, continuous improvement, and trusted assurance for customers in Australia, Ireland, and internationally.
